Research Questions

Research questions tell Cleio AI what to look for in your videos. Good questions help the AI identify the most relevant moments across all your interviews.

What Are Research Questions?

Research questions are the key things you want to learn from your user research. They guide the AI analysis to surface relevant insights. Examples:
  • “What frustrations do users experience during onboarding?”
  • “How do users currently solve this problem without our product?”
  • “What features would users pay more for?”
  • “Why do users abandon the checkout flow?”

Adding Questions

  1. Go to your project’s Questions tab
  2. Click Add Question
  3. Type your research question
  4. Press Enter or click Add
Add as many questions as you need — typically 3-8 questions per study works well.

Writing Effective Questions

Do ✓

  • Be specific — “What confuses users about the pricing page?” vs “What do users think?”
  • Focus on behaviors — “How do users navigate between sections?”
  • Ask about problems — “What prevents users from completing signup?”
  • Include context — “Why do enterprise users need export features?”

Don’t ✗

  • Too vague — “Is the product good?”
  • Yes/no questions — “Do users like the feature?”
  • Multiple questions in one — “What do users think about pricing and also the dashboard?”
  • Leading questions — “Don’t users love the new design?”
